Biographical / Historical
Alex Segal (1915-1977) was an American television director. Segal worked on such television series and television movies as
"Death of a Salesman" (1966), "The Diary of Anne Frank" (1967), "The United States Steel Hour," and "Celanese Theatre." He
won Primetime Emmy for TV direction for "Death of a Salesman" in 1966. Segal was chairman of the Division of Drama at the
University of Southern California from 1971 to 1976.
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the papers, photographs, and awards of American television director Alex Segal (1915-1977). These
papers include set blueprints and drawings, clippings, and scripts. Photographs of sets are also included. Segal worked on
such television series and television movies as "Death of a Salesman" (1966), "The Diary of Anne Frank" (1967), "The United
States Steel Hour," and "Celanese Theatre."
