    Collection Scope and Contents

The Sadakichi Hartmann papers II is a composite collection that was created following surveys of unprocessed Hartmann family related materials in 2018 and 2019. Provenence for the materials that make up this collection is generally unknown, but came to UCR Special Collections over a number of years from a number of different donors, some of whom were Hartmann family members. The materials in this collection primarily include items from or created by Sadakichi Hartmann and Wistaria Hartmann Linton, his daughter. Materials include correspondence, art, manuscript drafts, photographs, newspaper clippings, print material, as well as a small amount of ephemera, A/V, and realia. The art in the collection is primarily by Sadakichi or Lillian, with some from other or unknown artists. The photographs include some photos that belonged to, or were taken by, Wistaria.
