- The Jan Erickson collection of oral history interviews is a collection of interviews of individuals affiliated with the University of California, Riverside. These interviews were conducted by the administrative assistant to former Chancellor Raymond L. Orbach, Jan Erickson, between 1992 and 2002. Erickson conducted these interviews in an attempt to illustrate the evolution of the University of California, Riverside. The interviewees selected by Erickson consist of faculty, administrators, students and civic leaders who were integral to the development of the Riverside campus.

This collection contains transcripts, videocassettes, and audiocassettes of interviews conducted by Jan Erickson. The content of these interviews are oral histories of the University of California, Riverside given by affiliates of the University of California Riverside. The Interviewees in this collection include former chancellors, professors, faculty, and more. The materials document the foundation and development of UC Riverside, as well as its early educational climate, work environment, and collaboration with other UC campuses. Additionally, the interviews provide insight into community support and interactions with the student body during this important developmental time.
