Biographical / historical:

Isaac Perkins was born in Massachusetts February 2, 1816. He came to California in 1850 and became a general merchandise and lumber merchant in Sacramento. In 1867, he moved to San Joaquin County and started a flour mill. In later years, he was a banker in Modesto, where he died June 18, 1893.
