Letters written by Mr. and Mrs. William Warner of Sweetland, Calif. to family members.

Biographical / historical:

Mr. and Mrs. Warner came overland to California in 1853 settling in Nevada City. Until 1870, the family moved frequently and William worked in sawmills throughout Placer County. In 1870, he opened a general merchandise store in Sweetland, California, where he remained until his wife died on January 8, 1897. He then lived in Oakland, California until his death May 30, 1905.
