Collection consists of 175 items of correspondence, papers, photographs, and ephemera relating to John M. Sanborn, school teacher and principal at various schools in Michigan, and his family. Includes an eight-page letter to Sanborn from his brother Lucius, describing military action at Gaines Mill, Virginia during the Civil War.
