William and Lee Phillip Bell were born and raised in Chicago, IL; the couple married in 1954; William J. began his writing career (1956) on "Guiding Light," wrote for "As The World Turns," co-created "Another World" (1964) with Irna Phillips, and began writing for "Days Of Our Lives" (1966); he is executive producer, co-creator and head writer for both "The Bold And The Beautiful" and "The Young And The Restless"; Lee Bell graduated Northwestern Univ. with a BS in Microbiology, 1950; she began hosting her own afternoon talk show (1954) and went on to co-create "The Bold And The Beautiful" and "The Young And The Restless"; she is the recipient of numerous awards and is president of Bell-Phillip TV Productions.
