Scope and content:

This small group of letters of condolence on the death of Fred William Dohrmann, a prominent San Francisco merchant, sent to and by various members of the family, was given to The Bancroft Library on September 12, 1978 by Mr. Henry Evers, the great grandson of Mr. Dohrmann.

The correspondence has been divided into outgoing and incoming, and arranged alphabetically, with family members first, by correspondent, and then chronologically within each folder. Correspondents writing fewer than five letters are filed alphabetically and precede those with more significant correspondence. A copy of an obituary (with notes) is included.
