Background

Scope and content:

The Foladare Collection at the Caltech Archives consists of three boxes of materials, all of which date from the Caltech Rocket Project during World War II (1942-46). Included in the first two boxes are technical reports on rocket science and weaponry, and Foladare's memoranda to the report writers regarding the style and structure of their reports. The third box contains the eight monographs on rocket-related subjects that the workers on the rocket project composed in 1946, in fulfillment of Caltech's OSRD contract.

The materials held in the Foladare Collection were graciously donated by Joseph Foladare's daughter, Elise Foladare.

For his service during the war, Foladare received the Presidential Certificate of Merit.
