Biographical / historical:

William H. Bull arrived in San Francisco in 1894. He was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad as their first commercial artist. He specialized in doing advertising and painting pictures of California's beauty spots for Southern Pacific's promotional materials. Bull also designed covers for Sunset magazine.
