The Ivan C. F. Heisler motion picture film depicts Leon Trotsky, his wife Natalia Sedova, and members of their entourage, together with the artist Diego Rivera and his wife, the artist Frida Kahlo, in Coyoacan, Mexico. The footage was taken during a family trip while visiting the Trotskys. Ivan was approximately 18 years of age when capturing this footage.
Ivan's father Francis, a lawyer representing workers' rights and conscientious objectors, also appears in the film speaking with Frida Kahlo.
Includes original print, two reference prints, and video tape duplicates.

Photographer, born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1921 and died in SF, CA in 1976. Ivan and his parents immigrated to the US (Chicago) in 1924 when he was three years of age. His dad, Francis Heisler, was a politically active Hungarian who met and wed our Friedy Baumann (Heisler) in Switzerland.
