This collection contains correspondence, agendas, minutes, proofs, and other material generated during the creation of Latin American Perspectives, a theoretical and scholarly journal for discussion and debate on the political economy of capitalism, imperialism, and socialism in the Americas. Notes have been added to individual files reflecting information that was written on the original folders.

The Latin American Perspectives journal was created by Ronald Chilcote, UCR Professor of Economics. The first issue was published in 1974 and it is still publishing at the time this finding aid was created, in 2025.

Many of the folders in this collection had hand-written notes on them, usually about acceptance or rejection. These notes have been transcribed onto the new folders and added as scope notes to the individual listings in the finding aid.
