The Stanford University Office of Maps and Central Records played a vital role in preserving and organizing the institution's historical and administrative documents. This office was responsible for maintaining a comprehensive collection of maps, records, and related materials that document the university's growth, development, and infrastructure over the years.

The Colusa Sandstone Company was a San Francisco based company and one of the largest suppliers of sandstone from the Colusa Sandstone Co. Quarry (aka the Knowles Quarry or Brownstone Quarry)for Stanford Univesrity after the 1906 earthquake.
