Scope and content:

Collection includes photographs of track meets; football coaches Glenn "Pop" Warner, Claude "Tiny" Thornhill, and Andy Kerr; athletic staff 1924; David Starr Jordan; the Soph-Frosh battle of October 1921; Battery A of the Stanford ROTC, March 1923; and 3 group images which include David: Phi Alpha Delta, 1923, American Journalists Association, 1923, and the press box at a Stanford meet, 1923. Photographers include Kenyon & Crow of Palo Alto and E. R. Freeman.

Biographical / historical:

Leon Thomas David earned his A.B. at Stanford University in 1924 and his J. D. in 1926; while an undergraduate he was active with the student newspaper and yearbook and also worked on publicity for the Board of Athletic Control.

Acquisition information:

Gift of Leon Thomas David to the Stanford Alumni Association in 1983 and transferred to the Stanford University Archives, 1996
