Scope and content:

From the Associated Students website:

"We are a non-state funded, non-profit organization paid for by the undergraduate student fees at UCSB. Through elected student positions and appointments we voice student concerns and express student opinion to the UCSB administration, UC system, our community, and state and local governments. We have dozens of boards, committees, and commissions that are organized and funded through AS to enrich student life and give students services and opportunities not offered by the administration. Our mission is to help students uphold the high academic standards and give them leadership, employment, cultural and growth opportunities to serve the campus community."

Associated Students oversees many student committees, including but not limited to the Academic Affairs Board (AAB), Business Services Committee, Coastal Fund, Community Affairs Board, the Program Board, and AS Recycling.

The collection contains administrative files of the Associated Students Program Board, Finance Board, Legislative Council, and Community Affairs Board, including meeting minutes and agendas, budgets, bills, acts, and resolutions. The collection is divided into the following series:

Series I: Program Board, contains meeting minutes and agendas, budgets, and ledgers.

Series II: Finance Board, contains meeting minutes and agendas, and budget requests.

Series III: Legislative Council, contains meeting minutes and agendas, bills, acts, and resolutions.

Series IV: Community Affairs Board (CAB), contains meeting minutes.
