San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park events records, 1991-2007, (SAFR 23001, HDC 1631), is a compilation of visual communication containing posters, events calendars, brochures, advertisements, programs, invitations, tickets, and a poem titled "Ode to a Scottish Ship" by Stephen Canright, the Park's Curator of Maritime History.

Events include: Festival of the Sea, Tales of the Sea, Sea Music Festival, Ferryboat Festival, A Master's Brush with the Sea, Council of American Maritime Museums conference, rechristening of the C.A. THAYER, Bertonccini exhibition, Maritime Museum member's reception, American President Lines archives opening, Two Year's Before the Mast, and book signing of "A Pacific Legacy." This material was collected by the park's Chief of Interpretation. The collection has been processed to the collection level and is available for use without restrictions.

Biographical / historical:

Agency History: The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park comprises what was originally the San Francisco Maritime State Historic Park and the San Francisco Maritime Museum. These entities were first made part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (National Park Service) until 1988 when San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park was established.
