Processing information:

These photographs were assembled from various photograph collections in the Tulare County Library's Annie R. Mitchell History Room. They were digitized in order to provide broader access to the cultural and social history of Tulare County. Project activities are on-going and conducted by a dedicated group of volunteers. Metadata is created and maintained in Microsoft Access. The cataloging conforms to the CDL's Guidelines for Digital Objects specifications for descriptive and copyright metadata (see http://www.cdlib.org/inside/diglib/guidelines/). For each physical item, three digital image files were created: a TIFF master, a JPEG access image, and GIF thumbnail image. The most current collection of digital image objects are available to the public through library's website (see http://www.tularecountylibrary.org/historyroom.html).
