This collection consists of certificates, resolutions, correspondence, and newspaper articles documenting the career of Santa Clara County Superintendent of Education, Charles R. Timpany.

Biographical / historical:

Charles R. Timpany earned his B.A. and doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley and his master's degree from Stanford University. He served as superintendent for the schools of Santa Clara County from 1957-1967. He also served as assistant superintendent from 1947-1957. Prior to serving as superintendent, Dr. Timpany was a special education teacher.
