Acquisition information:
Acquired by the Hoover Institution Library Archives.
Processing information:

In the 1980s, more than 33,000 posters were cataloged and photographed under a grant from the United States Department of Education. Since the grant ended in 1985, the archives has acquired more than 50,000 additional posters. In 2022, the archives digitized over 20,000 of the "uncataloged" posters in this collection.

The 33,000 posters cataloged and photographed in the 1980s are available as 35mm color slides and as digital files produced from the slides published via Hoover's Digital Collections website..

The 20,000 "uncataloged" posters digitized between 2022 and 2023 are available as digital copies via Hoover's new "Digital Collections 2" website.

Arrangement:

The list of countries below indicates countries known to be represented in this collection. Each country has been assigned a unique two character poster identification code, listed in parentheses following the country name. Where a country has a slide count associated with it, this indicates a count of posters from that country that were cataloged and photographed in the 1980s.
