The core of this artificial collection was formed from performing arts materials from the collection of Ken Dickmann, supplemented with materials from the Purple Circuit collection, an information clearinghouse for gay and lesbian theater, founded by Bill Kaiser.

The collection consists of programs, flyers, press kits, photographs, correspondence, newspaper clippings including reviews, and periodicals documenting gay and lesbian actors and theater from 1980-2000. This collection was assembled from performing arts materials from the collection of Ken Dickmann and the Purple Circuit, an information clearinghouse for gay and lesbian theater, founded Bill Kaiser.

Finding aid derived from ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives, Performing Arts Collection InMagic database (I:\Catalogs\ADAMS\pac.tba). Date of compilation and identity of compiler of database unknown. Database converted and edited by Michael Oliveira, December 2007. An additional 17.25 linear feet of material was added to collection and processed by Michael Oliveira, April 2014.

Processing this collection has been funded by a generous grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.

All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the ONE Archivist. Permission for publication is given on behalf of ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at USC Libraries as the owner of the physical items and is not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder, which must also be obtained.
