- Biographical / historical:

Carlos Burruss is believed to be Captain Charles Burroughs, from St. Louis, Missouri, and who served in General Fremontโs third battalion. Burroughs was killed in action at the Battle of Natividad near Salinas, California on November 16, 1946, having recently been made a captain. (Source: J.M.
