Scope and content:

The National Association of Social Workers Medical Social Work Section records consist of meeting minutes and agendas, report, membership lists, and some correspondence, 1931-1974 (bulk 1953-1959), that document the activities of the Los Angeles chapter of this organization. The meeting minutes are primarily those of the NASW Executive Committee that were distributed to the membership; the reports are primarily ones produced by members of the Medical Social Work Section; and the membership lists are those of medical social workers in the Los Angeles area and cover the transition period of the organization from the American Association of Medical Social Workers to the Medical Social Work Section of the National Association of Social Workers. Also included are membership lists and minutes from meetings of the NASW Social Work Research Section.
