Victor Vincent Veysey (1915-2001) was a member of the California State Assembly from 1963-1971 and served in the House of Representatives from 1971-1975. The Victor V. Veysey papers (1965-1985) include California State Assembly legislation files, congressional office files and legislation files, House of Representative bill files, campaign files, post-congressional activities, and photographs. Material includes correspondence, public relations and press releases, research and background material especially related to geothermal energy, air pollution, and agriculture.

Background

Scope and content:

The Victor V. Veysey papers (1965-1985) include California State Assembly legislation files, congressional office files and legislation files, House of Representative bill files, campaign files, post-congressional activities, and photographs. Material includes correspondence, public relations and press releases, research and background material especially related to geothermal energy, air pollution, and agriculture. Also included are files on the House of Representative bills Veysey was involved with including bills related to blood, blood banks, and supply. There are a few files from the time he was Assistant Secretary of the Army and Secretary for Industrial Relations.

Biographical / historical:

Victor Vincent Veysey (1915–2001) was a member of the California State Assembly from 1963-1971 and served in the House of Representatives from 1971-1975. After serving in Congress, Veysey was Assistant Secretary of the Army under President Gerald Ford from 1975-1977. In 1977 he was Director of Caltech's Industrial Relations Center and, in 1983, Secretary for Industrial Relations for the State of California.
