Scope and content:

The collection consists of drafts and printed matter related to The Inside of the MININT, a book written by Rodriguez Menier describing the background, organization, and operative methods of the Cuban Ministry of Interior, as well as a timeline. The collection is arranged in two groups: English drafts and Spanish drafts.

1969 – Wrote the "Guidelines of Norms and Procedures" for the public service section of the Department of operations of the GDCI; wrote and directed two Ministry of Interior TV programs; appointed as the head of the office of the GDCI at the Cuban Institute of Radio and TV (ICRT)

1970-1985 – Produced 15 secret TV documentaries at the request of Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, Ramiro Valdes, and Jose Abrantes

1971-1973 – Wrote several short stories edited by the Ministry of the Interior and published by the Moncada magazine

1974 – Appointed Vice-director of the Cuban TV; assigned mission to South Africa to investigate Cuban fishing vessels that had been sabotaged as well as secretly studying the possibilities of utilizing the Cuban fishing fleet to carry covet operations

1975 – Assigned on mission abroad to open secret accounts at Swiss banks

1980 – Assigned by Commander Ramiro Valdes to prepare secret TV informative documentaries for the Politburo of the Soviet Union

1982 – Reassigned to East Germany at the Cuban intelligence center as a GDCI official; held several conferences about police and crime related activities

1983 – Called back to Cuba to carry on the secret TV programs

1986 – Appointed by Jose Abrantes as the Second Head of the Center of Intelligence in Budapest, Hungary ascending to the rank of Major; held several conferences about police and crime related activities

1987 – Obtained political asylum in the United States for my wife and four children

1988 – Finished writing The Myth of the G-2, a book based on his experiences from 1959 to 1986

1988-1989 – Organized several conferences about intelligence and counter-intelligence activities for U.S. federal agencies

1993 – Finished writing The Inside of the MININT
