The meeting minutes, agendas and related documents (1986-1994) of the UCSD Council of Provosts are arranged chronologically. The files contain no material related to appointment or promotion.

Meeting minutes and agendas for meetings between July 11, 1995 and July 6, 1999.

Biographical / historical:

The Council of Provosts (COP) reviews academic files for appointment and promotion and makes recommendations to the Committee on Academic Personnel and academic departments. The COP assigns faculty members to individual colleges, reviews and coordinates student housing policies with the Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, and forms part of the Teaching Assistant Allocation Committee, which reports to the Program Review Committee. The chair of the Council of Provosts serves on the Chancellor's Cabinet, the cabinet of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Program Review Committee.
