Scope and content:

The collection primarily consists of manuscript scores of music composed by Harry Lubin for the television programs The Loretta Young Show,One Step Beyond,The Outer Limits, and Zane Grey Theatre, as well as themes, cues, bridges and songs. It also includes scores for the motion pictures Disaster,Wyoming Mail,Waterfront at Midnight,Mr. Reckless,Caged Fury,The Street Is My Beat, and Tibet. In addition, the collection contains scores created for recordings of Lubin's music.

Biographical / historical:

Composer Harry Lubin was born March 5, 1906 in New York. During his long career he worked for numerous productions in theater, radio, film, and television. Lubin served as musical director for the television programs The Pinky Lee Show and then The Loretta Young Show, and is best known as composer for the classic television series One Step Beyond and The Outer Limits. He also wrote music for several feature films including Caged Fury,Disaster,Wyoming Mail,Mr. Reckless,The Street Is My Beat, and Waterfront at Midnight. Harry Lubin died July 21, 1977 in Los Angeles.
