Primarily files relating to Jing Lyman's activities in community affairs, the Women's Resource Center, the Women and Foundations/Corporate Philanthropy, HUB, and with various foundations and executive boards.

Biographical / historical:

Elizabeth "Jing" Lyman (1925-2013) was communitiy activist who organized and sustained many foundations and coalitions, including Women and Foundations/Corporate Philanthropy, HUB, and the Women's Resource Center, among many others. She was the wife of Richard Lyman, 7th president of Stanford University.

Jing Lyman played an instrumental role in creating what is now the Michelle R. Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford. The institute, established in 1974, is now considered one of the nation's most distinguished research centers devoted to gender research.
