The Gardeneers Garden Club is a local garden club based in Palos Verdes Estates. The Gardeneers were founded in 1958 and are part of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc. (now National Garden Clubs, Inc.) and California Garden Clubs, Inc. in the Costa Verde District. The group participated in garden conventions and competitions and was involved in the broader community through donations and work with youth groups, community service at the South Coast Botanic Garden, and support of organizations like the California Roadside Council and Pennies for Pines. Elaine Conze, the creator of these achievement books and former president of the Gardeneers, was born in Illinois in 1911 and moved to California in 1936 after studying Art History and Business Administration at the Art Institute in Detroit and Windsor College respectively. She moved to Palos Verdes Estates with her husband in 1950 and joined the Gardeneers in 1961. The Gardeneers are still registered with National Garden Clubs, Inc. and recognized as a local club by the South Coast Botanic Garden in 2024.
