Correspondence, bylaws, Board of Directors' reports, financial statements, meeting minutes, course syllabus, staff reports, questionnaire, medical bulletin, workshop packet, flyers, press release, bulletins, and clippings documenting activity of the Santa Barbara Gay and Lesbian Resource Center (GLRC), 1980-1993. The GLRC was founded to offer social services, including rehabilitation therapy for alcohol and drug abuse, as well as AIDS-related health programs.

Biographical / historical:

The Santa Barbara Gay and Lesbian Resource Center (GLRC)was founded in the late 1970s to provide rehabilitation services for alcohol and drug abuse among the gay and lesbian community in the Santa Barbara area. It also offered community service "programs conducive to the betterment of gay and lesbian persons' self images and ability to relate to others," and supportive services to assist gay and lesbian senior citizens. The GLRC also provided AIDS-related services for people with HIV/AIDS.
