Biographical / historical:

Elmer A. Martens was a Mennonite Brethren minister and professor of Old Testament. He was pastor of the Butler Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church (Fresno, Calif.), 1958-1966. In 1966 he joined the faculty of Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (Fresno, Calif.). From 1977 to 1986 he was president of that seminary.
