Background

Scope and content:

The Oliver Daniel Correspondence with Ernst Krenek is comprised of letters between the two men, mainly during Daniel's tenure at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). The letters, dating 1955-1976 detail their business relationship, as well as Krenek's composition and performance schedule. Several letters written after Daniel's time at BMI are more personal and relate to projects that Daniel was working to complete.

The collection contains original letters and telegrams from Daniel and photocopies of letters from Krenek. One original letter, dated 1957, contains a list of his compositions to be included in a promotional brochure. The collection also contains a few copies of letters from others, including Robert Burton and Gladys Krenek, as well as copies of newspaper clippings, programs, and ephemera related to Krenek's career.
