Scope and content:

This collection contains 20 VHS videocassette tapes of performances from the last month of shows at the Valencia Rose in 1985. The videotapes were recorded by Dirk Alphin, who was operations manager of the Valencia Rose and Josie’s Juice Joint and Cabaret. The collection includes performances by Tom Ammiano, Mothertongue Readers Theatre, Lea DeLaria, Jose Sarria and lots of queer comedy. There are also 3 VHS tapes recorded by Donald Montwill, including footage of Josie’s Juice Joint.
