The Donn Shannon discharge papers (HDC 1272, SAFR 20611) collection consists of one United States Coast Guard Discharge Certificate dated September 30, 1957 from the C.A. Thayer (built 1895; schooner, 3m), 2 news clippings about voyage, and an 8x10 inch black-and-white photograph of Donn Shannon receiving pay and discharge certificate after the C.A. Biographical / historical:

Donn Shannon (1908-1989) was a crew member aboard the C.A.THAYER on her 1957 voyage from Seattle to San Francisco. Mr. Shannon was also involved in the restoration of the BALCLUTHA.
