Background

Biographical / historical:

Jeffrey Escoffier (1942-2022) was an activist and scholar who addressed the connection of sexuality and politics. He was a president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Gay Activists Alliance, and helped found the Gay Alternative. He was also the executive editor of the Socialist Review in the 1980s.
