The World Conference on Faith and Order (founded 1910) is a conference for what became the Faith and Order Commission, an assembly within the World Council of Churches (founded 1948). The Commission includes international participants of various vocations, including pastors, laypeople, academic scholars, and church leaders. The Commission’s purpose is to reach consensus on theological doctrines of the Christian faith, particularly for the practices of baptism, Communion (Eucharist), ministry practices, ecclesiology, and ecumenical hermeneutics. Publications were released in the series “Faith and Order Papers.”
