Biographical / historical:

The Dick Jones Picture Company was founded by Dick Jones and his wife Peggy in 1931, when they settled in Huntington Park, California after relocating from Great Falls, Montana. In Great Falls, Dick had worked for the Como Company, which framed all of Charles M. Russell's paintings. He and Russell became friends from their work together at Como. The Dick Jones Picture Company became the leading publisher of prints of Russell's paintings.

Charles M. Russell (1864-1926) was, along with Frederick Remington, the best-known painter of the American West during the late 19th-early 20th centuries. His paintings and sculpture depict cowboys, Native Americans, and landscapes set in the western United States and Canada.
