Scope and content:

52 color, black and white, and toned photographs taken by Peter Hughes. Box 1: 5 color unmatted 11 x 14” photographs. 19 Black and white 5 x 7” photos (no titles) in white 11 x 14” mats signed by Hughes. Box 2: 25 black and white, color, and toned photographs of varying sizes in 13.75 x 18” mats, most signed by Hughes, no titles. 3 framed photographs are on display on the main floor of the library.

Biographical / historical:

Peter Hughes (1948-2008) photographed places and objects in the Monterey Peninsula area in the later part of his life. His photographs are included in the GLBT Historical Society, San Francisco and displayed on the main floor of the Monterey Peninsula College Library.

Acquisition information:
The collection was donated to the MPC Library by Denise Sallee in 2014.
Processing information:

The photographs were originally organized and inventoried in 2014 and again in 2025.
