Color photographs documenting the social world of A Different Light (ADL) bookstore's San Francisco location in the 1990s, including ADL staff, an event by the cultural activist collective Boy with Arms Akimbo, and the 1996 Readers and Writers conference. Also includes a certificate, signed by San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano, commemorating the San Francisco Board of Supervisor’s proclamation of August 21, 2000 as Richard Labonté Day in San Francisco.
