Biographical / Historical
Chuck Connors (1921-1992) was an American actor, writer, and professional basketball and baseball player. He is best known
for his role as Lucas McCain in the ABC series "The Rifleman." Connors was a supporter of the Republican Party and attended
several fundraisers for campaigns for U.S. President Richard M. Nixon.

This collection consists of television scripts for shows and series featuring actor Chuck Connors (1921-1992); scrapbooks
of clippings and publicity materials; awards and plaques; instrumental score for The Rifleman; and political files pertaining
to Richard Nixon. There are television scripts for The Rifleman (1961-1963), Branded (1964-1966), Cowboy in Africa (1967-1968),
Arrest and Trial (1963-1964), The Kraft Music Hall (1962), The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1960), the 12th Annual Emmy Awards
(1960), and The Don Knotts Show (1970); screenplays for Ride Beyond Vengeance (1966) and The Sea Wolf (Il Lup Dei Mari, 1960);
and scripts of stage plays Mary, Mary (1971) and The Button (1974). There are stills from television productions personal
photographs, correspondence and political files pertaining to Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, and 4-16mm prints for episodes
of Branded.

Processing Information
This collection is unprocessed. For preservation purposes, two film reels (a Ford Motor Company sales film and Vietnam 16
mm footage) were digitized and the originals disposed of. 35mm film of a two-part episode of Call To Glory was disposed of
in May 2022. As a result of this deaccessioning, box 68 is no longer part of the collection.
