Background

Scope and content:

"Behr was the author of a considerable number of monographs on specific diseases and ailments. Hirsch states that he was noted for his diagnostic acumen and deep knowledge of the literature. He goes on to state that Behr also proffered complex recipes for many of the medicinal compounds he recommended in his writings. The manuscript here was not published. It appears to be the record of (or perhaps the notes for) Behr's lectures on diagnosis and disease. It begins with a general consideration of pathology and moves to the pathology of specific diseases of all kinds and the medications that are suggested for each. Cf. Hirsch I, 430 - 431; Jocher I, 1603; Poggendorff 1, 135." -- Antiquarian bookseller's description, 2016.
