Background

Scope and content:

Collection consists of a manuscript with numerous drawings in red crayon and other pasted-on pictures cut from magazines or photographs. Loose-leaf, unbound, in red wrappers with pictorial upper cover. "An unusual and attractive self-penned baby book, perhaps created by a prospective parent or possibly with a view to publication. The script is neat and legible, the drawings accomplished. Puériculture covers all the expected topics in considering the care of a baby in the first stages, from birth to first outings. Both breast feeding and bottle feeding is considered and one of the cut images is a growth chart (uncompleted)."--Antiquarian bookseller's description.
