Biographical / historical:

According to the 1955 El Rodeo yearbook, the goals of the Women's Athletic Association were to "promote interest in athletics, to create a spirit of good sportsmanship and fellowship, and to cooperate in promoting and maintaining the highest standards of University life."

The club sponsored both intramural and extramural activities. The extramural activities included participation at Sports Days at local colleges. On campus activities included a swimming meet, basketball and volleyball games, and the Aquacade.
