The first is dated October 4, 1839, Jackson (Amador Co.), and signed by Jacob Cunmminger(?), foreman. The second is dated Oct. 3rd, 1839, and is signed by the Deputy (Rynerson), the clerk (Pawling), and the foreman, H.W. Allen. No explanation is given as to why there are two verdicts, with two different foremans.
