This album consists of contact prints. Each 8 x 10 sheet shows 12 photos made directly from the negatives. On a photocopy page following each contact print sheet is a description of what each photo is. Also written on the back of each contact print is the photo number of each photo.
The first half of the album shows streamliners of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad including "California Zephyr", "Denver Zephyr", "Twin Cities Zephyr", "Silver Streak Zephyr", "Sam Houston Zephyr", "Mark Twain Zephyr", "General Pershing Zephyr", "Texas Zephyr", "Nebraska Zephyr", "Burlington Zephyr", "Pioneer Zephyr", and the "Zephyr Rocket".
In the middle of this album is a small group of streamliner photos from the Florida East Coast Railway.
The final portion of the album shows streamliners of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway which include: "The Golden Gate", "The Chief", "The Super Chief", "The San Francisco Chief", "The San Diegan", "The El Capitan", and "The Kansas Cityan".
The contact sheets in this collection have a CSRM negative number written on the verso of each image. The corresponding negatives can be found in the CSRM online catalog in the Leslie O. Merrill Collection as well as searching by the negative number.

Leslie O. Merrill (04 Jan 1920-30 Jan 2009) was a life-long collector of streamline railroad materials. Merrill was a director of the San Mateo County Historical Association and Museum for several years in the 1960s-1970s.
