Scope and content:

This collection consists of the sheet music and arrangements of Romanian-born actor and film composer of Carli Elinor (1890-1958). Elinor's compositions include music for films "Surrender" (1931), "The Yellow Ticket" (1931), "Wicked" (1931), "The Spider" (1931), "Transatlantic" (1931), "Women of All Nations" (1931), "East Lynne" (1931), "Men Without Women" (1930), and "The Bridge of San Luis Rey" (1929). Other music compositions, not composed by Elinor, are included in this collection as he was also an actor in silent and speaking films.

Biographical / historical:

Carli Elinor (1890-1958) was a Romanian-born actor and film composer. He composed music for film scores and introudced sound effects to films in the 1917 film "The Eyes of the World."
