Biographical / historical:

Samuel Brooks Morris (1890-1962) was born in Los Angeles, California. Morris graduated from Stanford University in 1911 with a degree in civil engineering. He would later continue on to become a Professor of civil engineering, and later Head of the Civil Engineering Department (1935-1944) and then Dean of the School of Engineering (1936-1945) at Stanford.
