Background

Scope and content:

This consists of three unpublished typescripts. The most significant of these, Heterosexual and Homosexual Identities: The Normalization of Sexual Relationships, (ca 1980), is an extensive review of theories of sexuality which predate the rise of Queer Theory in the late 1980s. Others are Components of Sexual Identity, and Conflicts over Rights and Needs in Homosexual Relationships. All of these were written while Shively worked as a Research Associate under John De Cecco at SFSU's Center for Homosexual Education, Evaluation, and Research (CHEER).
