Scope and content:

The papers compiled by the donor include the correspondence of Sibyl Hayes (1946-1968); Hayes Mansion preservation records, including recordings of San Jose City Council meetings (1986-1991); Testimonial letters (and transcripts of letters) from patients healed by Mary Hayes Chynoweth; notecards and manuscripts of author Edgar C. Kester from his works on Mary Hayes Chynoweth; material related to Sibyl Hayes' "Today's Thoughts" radio broadcast (1968-1973); material on iron mining in the Gogebic Iron Range of Wisconsin/Michigan. See attached inventory.

Donated to History San Jose in 1995 by a relative of Mary Hayes Chynoweth.

The collection is open to the public for research by appointment with the Curator of Library and Archives.
