    Biographical / Historical

    David Raksin (1912-2004) was an American composer who worked in film and television. He wrote over 100 film scores and 300 television scores. Raksin hosted the KUSC radio program "The Subject Is Film Music" in the 1970s.

    Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of the audio recordings of the radio program "The Subject Is Film Music." This program ran on KUSC and was hosted by American composer David Raksin (1912-2004). Raksin interviewed film composers such as George Duning, Stanley Myers, David Shire, Hugo Friedhofer, William Kraft, Hans Salter, and Dimitri Tiomkin. This show ran during the 1970s.
