    Abstract: Letters sent on military postcards from the three Chastoni brothers to friends and relatives in Naples and Mantua from 1916-1919, relating to their wartime service. Alfredo Chastoni was with the 85th Regiment and was the Major Medical Director in Hospital #0125 in 1916-1917 and Hospital #0106 in 1918-1919. Ugo Chastoni was a Captain of Artillery with the Comando 51st Division. Guido Chastoni was a Grenadier with the 124th Machine Gun Company.

    Biographical Note

    Alfredo Chastoni was with the 85th Regiment and was the Major Medical Director in Hospital #0125 in 1916-1917 and Hospital #0106 in 1918-1919. Ugo Chastoni was a Captain of Artillery with the Comando 51st Division. Guido Chastoni was a Grenadier with the 124th Machine Gun Company.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    Letters sent on military postcards from the three Chastoni brothers to friends and relatives in Naples and Mantua from 1916-1919, relating to their wartime service. Several dozen of the letters are from other soldiers, including Agatino Di Salvatori assigned to a Soldiers Hospital camp # 95, Pompeo Biocchi with the 50th Battalion, Filippo Perrotta with the 148th Fanteria Regiment, and several others. The authors are Alfredo, Guido and Ugo Chastoni, writing to their father and relatives in Naples and Mantua. The letters date from 1916-1919 and are all written on military postcard stock and stamped. There are 136 letters in total.
